2010-2011 

Middle School: $120.00 to Matt Hall for the materials for a science activity called Slime Creation.
Middle School: $1060.20 to Elizabeth Grodi for the 2011 edition of World Book Encyclopedia and a specialized encyclopedia called Inventions and Discoveries.
Middle School: $2000.00 to Lisa Garrison and Shanna Spickard for Health Curriculum Resources and/or MEAP breakfasts at the Middle School as part of their Fuel Up to Play 60 program.
Middle School: $109.73 to Anne Shinn for the 7th grade version of Jr. Scholastic magazine.
Middle School: $133.00 to Erica Kranz for the 6th grade version of Time for Kids magazine.
2009-10
Klager: Kelly Ball, Ron Tindall, Joanna Van Raden and Jennifer Mayes (Leadership and Design Team) were awarded $1,600.00 for Scholastic Trait Crates for all teachers K-4 to use as a resource when teaching the Six Traits of Writing during Writers' Workshop. The crates include lessons and mentor texts for each of the six traits of writing.
Klager: Talle Jolliffe, Ron Tindall, Cindy Hanewald and Karen Ellsworth were awarded $1,173.36 for replacement books for their Macomb Genre Units. This is a supplemental reading program that has been used heavily.
Klager: Talle Jolliffe was awarded $1, 099 for an online subscription to Scholastic Bookflix. This program can be used by students K-4 at school and at home for paired reading selections of fiction and nonfiction titles!
Middle School: Brett Whalen was awarded $154.00 for 6th Grade Scholastic Scope Magazine subscription to supplement daily teaching.
Middle School: Kerry Wolf, Erica Kranz, Astrida Punches and Matt Hall were awarded $535.92 for Extensive Reading in Science. A subscription to Scholastic's Superscience and Science World Magazines was awarded to promote more opportunities for reading in science classes.

Klager/Migrant: Joanna Van Raden was awarded $1,100 for FlipVideo Cameras to use year round.
Migrant: Cheryl Call was awarded funds for a special summer project that brings migrant students together with general education students to promote health and fitness. Students participated in a fitness program at the Saline Rec. Center and received new running shoes.
Klager:Denise Cain received $2,149.89 in funding to purchase SPIRE Reading program for her Reading Intervention Class.
Klager: Melissa Yekulis was awarded $1,671.35 for Clifford's Character Education kits, posters and activities.
MMS: Erica Kranz was awarded $500.00 for dry erase markers to be used in the Reading Apprenticeship Initiative.
MMS: Brett Whalen was awarded $148.24 to to purchase a subscription to Scholastic Scope magazine for his 6th grade classes.
MMS: Laura Betzoldt received $850 to purchase three sets of specialized encyclopedias for the Middle School Library.
MMS: Gay Thacher received $498.90 to purchase some new physical education equipment.
MMS: Shawna Spickard received $450 to pay for the snacks provided to students during the MEAP test.
Remember that the Foundation accepts grant requests throughout the school year and reviews the requests at the monthly meetings which take place on the first Wednesday of each month.
