Department of Special Education Services

In partnership with families, teachers and Special Education Services, Manchester Community Schools maintain high expectations to enable each child to reach their greatest potential and be prepared for life after high school.  Special Education Services are provided from individualized educational plans based on research and designed from the data on the student’s present level of performance. Our goal is to educate all students in an inclusive setting as much as possible.

Manchester Community Schools provides services for children from birth through 25 years of age.  We provide a family educator, social work, speech and language, teacher consultants, resource room teachers, psychologists, occupational therapists and physical therapists. Manchester Community Schools has staff trained in educational strategies for student with Autism through the Statewide Autism Resource and Training Center (START) and Verbal Behavior Training (VBT)
