Manchester Community Schools embrace technology and learning. Technology is a tool to enhance your child's education here at Manchester. All classrooms are equipped with projection systems connected to the teacher's desktop to aid in visual presentation. All classrooms have audio systems with microphones for the teachers to deliver their lessons as well as provide the opportunity for students to use the technology. Our goal is to create 21st century learners and provide the best possible education for the future. We have been given an extraordinary opportunity here in Manchester by an anonymous private donor. The private donor has enabled us to rebuild our infrastructure (both hard wire and wireless) to add multiple wireless student devices. The district is participating in a pilot that will eventually prepare both our staff and students to be 21st century teachers and learners. Update: After a year of pilot testing several different devices, the technology committee decided that the Apple iPad was the device that provided the greatest flexibility to our staff and students. In March 2012, the district ordered enough iPads to initiate the 1 to 1 program that will provide each student with their own personal iPad2. The roll out will begin in August 2012. Stay tuned for more information on this great opportunity.
